⁣Methyl propylene glycol, also known as METHYLPROPANEDIOL or 2-methyl-1,3-propylene glycol (MPO); 2-methylpentane-2,4-diol.


Methyl propylene glycol is a colorless and transparent liquid with low viscosity, which can be used as a solvent to dissolve other ingredients in cosmetic formulas. Almost non irritating to the skin and eyes.


Methyl propylene glycol can be used to manufacture unsaturated polyester, liquid saturated polyester, thermoplastic polyester resin (modified by PET and PBT), alkyd resin, polyurethane resin, diester plasticizer, lubricant, etc. It is also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc.


The obtained polymer has the characteristics of low viscosity, low melting point, low temperature resistance, and weather resistance.
